Morro Bay Engagement Session

Engagement Sessions are so much fun and when you pair that with Morro Bay, what more can a photographer ask for? I admit it was cold but you cannot tell in the photos because of the love between Sam and Ashley. Sam grew up in Los Osos and wanted to add a personal touch by picking locations that were special to him. Now living in Northern California, Sam remembers the area fondly and Ashley has fallen in love with the area now as well. I must mention the ring….oh my goodness….it was even prettier in person if you can believe that. It is one of my all time favorite rings to photograph. The ring reflected the color in the sky. I love hearing each couples love story and how he proposed.

A little fun history about Morro Rock: The 581-foot Morro Rock is one of 13 volcanic plugs found in San Luis Obispo County. The rock, which was quarried on and off from 1889 to 1969, provided material for the breakwater of Morro Bay and the improvements at Port San Luis Harbor. In February 1968, the San Luis Obispo County Historical Society and the City of Morro Bay succeeded in having Morro Rock declared California National Landmark number 821 and is protected by the State. Today it is a very popular tourist attraction.

People have come from all over the world to photograph Morro Rock and it’s interesting to see the beauty it displays year round. In the colder months, the sunsets are a more vibrant pink. In the warm summer months the sunsets tend to be a more orange/yellow glow. Needless to say there isn’t a dull photography moment here. It is one of many location choices when you book a photo session with Jaydyn Blair Photography. How do you want your engagement session to look and feel?
